Does the job, but some silly drawbacks
by M. Bigelow "affable misanthrope" (November 7, 2012) 113 of 114 people found this review helpful
We got this for our kid when he was about two or three months old and have used it fairly steadily since (he's just over seven months now). In general terms, it does a pretty good job of soothing him and, after countless kicks of varying magnitude, it seems to be holding up well. It's hardly a perfect product, however, and some things would likely have me reconsidering whether I'd buy it again.

Good stuff:

* Music is tolerable, though quickly redundant (it didn't take my wife or me long to be able to hum along with the playlist of classical snippets).
* The 'underwater' lighting effect is pretty cool.
* Wind-down of light and sounds is gentle and well done.
* Star button is easy for baby to smack to turn on the fun.
* Crib light function is helpful.

OK stuff:

* The remote has its own agenda and doesn't always work. When it does, it's a good thing to have. When it doesn't, it's frustrating. Partly due to what seems to be a... Read more
Good aquarium BUT...
by Erin C. (April 30, 2012) 18 of 19 people found this review helpful
I've heard great things about this aquarium and I'm excited to give it a try. My biggest complaint so far is that it doesn't fit onto the railing of our crib. Our crib is a pretty standard size (made by Pali) so I'm very frustrated and disappointed to see that it doesn't fit. We still want to give it a try as our baby really seems to like it so we're going to find a way to make it work. My sister- and brother-in-law had the same problem with it and their crib. Another few inches of strap and this would fit perfectly. It's a HUGE oversight on the part of Baby Einstein!
Beautiful soother
by JacquiekK80 (May 18, 2012) 11 of 15 people found this review helpful
I read reviews on many crib soothers before choosing to purchase this one. I'm very happy with my choice. It stays on longer than any of the others I've seen which is very nice since it can easily take my baby longer than 10 minutes to go to sleep. I purchased it when she was 4 months old and she loves it. It's very pretty/soothing and I love all the options. The attachment piece on the back is adjustable. It did not fit on the front of her crib though which was where I originally thought it would go. It's placed on the side of her crib instead and she's never had a problem seeing. The side rail of her crib is pretty thick as well so I'm glad it did fit there.
