My dear family friend died at 34 of skin cancer. The cause was a single freckle the Dr. missed, because she went to a dermatologist who used only his naked eye to detect cancerous cells. I now go to a dermatologist who uses a full body scanner, and diligently read the Environmental Working Group's online report on the safety of sunscreens annually, and apply like a maniac. For real protection of any kind you need a broad spectrum that includes zinc and titanium. Nothing else will protect you as safely. But you don't want nano-particles/ingredients of any sunscreen (or makeup) so small that your skin actually absorbs them which is also a cancer concern.
